The calculator covers the main taxes and deductions that apply to self-employed individuals in the UK:
2023/24, 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 — select your year from the dropdown.
Standard allowance is £12,570. This reduces for income over £100,000.
9% on profits between £12,570 and £50,270, and 2% above that (2026/27).
The results include a Self Assessment summary showing your estimated payment on account dates.
This calculator is designed for sole traders and freelancers who are registered as self-employed with HMRC. If you are both employed and self-employed, or operate through a limited company, you may need a different calculator.
If you need to produce payslips or a P60 document, OS Payroll can help. Our online tool lets you create accurate replacement payslips and P60s quickly — with digital delivery or printed and posted UK-wide.
