Our application is used by payroll departments and individual users alike to quickly resolve pay problems. Use your own data or let our system calculate from gross or net pay. We email PDF copies and send printed forms by Royal Mail.
Create FREE samples. You only pay if happy. Documents in less than 30 minutes. We post same day. Unlimited free amendments. Any reason money-back guarantee.
Computerised payroll makes it simple for employers to print or email a copy. They should be willing to help, so don’t be afraid to ask. If the company runs online payroll, copies will be available for download. The last P60 should be straightforward. Going back to older pay years more difficult if data has been archived.
We put together a sample email you could use if unsure of how to make the approach.
Subject: Request for P60 Document
Dear [Employer's Name],
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to request a copy of my P60 document for the previous tax year. As I am in the process of completing my personal finances, I realised that I am unable to locate my P60 document, and would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with a copy of it.
If there are any forms or procedures that need to be completed in order to obtain a copy of the document, please let me know and I will be happy to comply.
Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Employers are also unlikely to have old stationery so a basic printout is a likely outcome. The pay forms are pre-printed with a year end date and need to be on the correct copy. We’re happy to provide old forms to your company if they need help. If they're struggling to produce your documents we are happy to work with them to get you the items you need.
If you can’t get what you need from the company HMRC can also provide a service (sort of). They won’t produce a copy P60 but will send you details of your earnings and deductions. It will be on headed paper from the revenue and should be fine as proof of earnings / employment. It can take up to a few weeks to arrive unfortunately. You can also access personal pay information via the Government Gateway. Knowing your earnings for any given pay year is the key information and with that you can then get a copy P60 online.
With the pay amount you can create a copy P60. You can get previous years on the correct stationery, and it’s quick. But you pay for the service. Whereas the employer should be free.
If you know how much you earned, it’s quite simple. You can enter all data or we can calculate from the total pay. Submit your details and we send a sample copy by email. If you’re happy there’s a link to pay and we print and post your P60. You receive an original document usually next day or shortly after.
Create as many samples as you wish. You only pay for what you need. If you wish to buy the price is £30.00 for email and printed documents or £15.00 if you only need an email PDF copy.
Even if you no longer work for the company they should still help. Call or send a polite email asking for a copy. Tell them HMRC suggested you get in touch (which they do on the .gov website). Be persistent if they don’t respond. Give it 7 days, then ask HMRC for the amounts if not received.Do you have my P60 details?
No, we can calculate the P60 from the information you enter but we can’t verify with your employer or tax office. The data is private but you can get the information from them which we can use to calculate.
If your company runs e-payroll you should have a secure login to view and download pay documents. You can’t view your P60 online at the government website. You can create a copy P60 online here and view it as a PDF file.
It is important to keep safe but unlikely to be of any use to anyone else. A P60 is often used as proof of earnings but never on its own. They would need other identity documents too. Such as a passport. Driving licence. Utility bill. Bank card, etc. In isolation the P60 is of little value. It contains your address so if found you can get it back.
In recent years the rules have relaxed. A black and white printout from the payroll system is acceptable. And lots of companies do that.
